It has long been established that the church in the Philippines is meddling with politics, what with the homilies and destructions to President Rodrigo Duterte being brought about by priests and religious leaders to attempt to sway their followers.

SONA Effigy

A post by a Facebook user named Jennifer Mainit Ortiz Hinggo is making rounds on social media now.

In her post, she angrily called out Baclaran Church for having people make a Duterte effigy that they will use in an anti-administration rally during the SONA. These people are actually creating the effigy right inside the compound of the Baclaran Church itself.

Donations

Hinggo was concerned that the church may be using the donations and pledges that the church is getting to fund their anti-administration activities.

However, it should be said that people are going to church to give respect to the Lord, they are not there to listen to the priests’ political views.

The Bible says that church and politics should never be mixed. The priests, out of all people, should know that.
